Taft city شهر تفت

Taft is located 18 kilometers to the west of the city of Yazd. The mountainous and scenic city of Taft consists of two districts: central and Nir. Population of 46,700 is scattered in the area of 6048 square kilometers.

Taft is mountainous and includes the highest peak of the province, Shirkooh with 4075 meter. Due to the hot weather if the city of Yazd during summer, many people take refuge to the remote mountainous villages around the city. Most of such villages are located in Taft. Some of those villages include: DehbAlA, TezerjAn, Poshtkooh, Zardein, Sakhvid, Banadkook, SAnij, Kahdooyieh, AliAbAd and NasrAbAd.
